Anytime you’re working with plywood that’s pretty rough on the edge, sometimes if you tackle that head on (going straight against the edge with your sander), it can potentially tear up the ply on top - which is usually the surface you’re trying to keep pretty✨ A simple way to avoid this is by starting your sanding on that top surface. Slowly start curving down the edge and then you can get after it. By starting on the top surface and sanding downward, this will help prevent ply from breaking & messing up your beloved work piece. Book displays for a wedding seating chart are alwa Book displays for a wedding seating chart are always a massive labor of love. 🙃 We tried a different method this time when we found these perfect faux books from Target!  The cashier looked at us like we were crazy when we purchased 60 of them 🫠 but then we took them home & went to werk. We painted each book to match the wedding color palette (this was the most time consuming part, but we broke it into batches doing a few per night to prep).  I custom cut spines out of 1/8” MDF on my laser and UV printed the guest name & seating chart info onto each spine. You could use foamcore and vinyl for this step if you don’t have those machines!  I used 3M adhesive to stick the spines to the books, and hot glue to attach the books to each other & also to the shelves 😂 ONLY because the venue for this wedding is a known place where winds be crazy. 😵‍💫 The florist stuck the florals to the shelves with command strips and the display held up beautifully despite the wind.  What do we think, are we in love? #weddingseatingchart #seatingchartideas #bookseatingchart #weddingdesigninspo #weddingplanner #eventplanner #custombackdrops #diybackdrops #diyseatingchart #diyweddingdecor
